Janet passed away July 14, 2014 at her home, with her husband by her side, after a short battle with cancer. She was born July 21, 1959 to Kirk and Shirley Butters. Married Jeff Cox, later divorced. Second marriage to Lynn Benson.
Janet worked as a camp host the past 7 years, working for American Land and Leisure. Her love for the outdoors and people made the job easy. She was a snowbird and lived half the year in the Utah Mountains and the other half in Lake Havasu City. Wherever she was she made friends, even if those friends were chipmunks, squirrels or an occasional donkey.
Survived by husband Lynn, sons Trevor Cox and Dustin Cox, stepson Scott (Krystal) Benson, stepdaughter Janet (Kent) Packard, mother Shirley Olsen, brother Randy Butters, and grandchildren Jaycen, Dyllon, and Kaylee. She was preceded in death by father Kirk, and brother Blaine.
The family wishes to thank Applegate Hospice for the kindness and willingness to help make it possible for her to come home prior to her passing.
