Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Russ Fairless passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at the age of 71 after a short battle with esophageal cancer. He was born June 13, 1947 to Doug and Marilyn Fairless (both deceased.) He grew up in Centerville, Utah and graduated from Davis High School. He married Linda Morgan, April 7, 1967. They were married for 51 years and had two children, Kimberly Ann and Chad Douglas.
Russ retired from the State of Utah in 2004 where he held the position of ITS Manager. He remained friends with several of the people he had worked with right up until he passed away.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and was exceptionally proud of Kim and Chad and all his grandchildren. His greatest passion was golf. He and a group of longtime friends made an annual golf trip every year to Mesquite or St. George. It was something he always looked forward to.
Russ is survived by his wife, his daughter Kim (Dan) Dent, son Chad, grandchildren; Hilary Dent (Conor) Robertson, Courtney Dent, Riley Fairless and one brother Hal (Jeanette.)
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 17th, at Larkin Sunset Gardens at 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) at 3:00 p.m. and a visitation will be held from 1:00 ‚ 2:45 p.m. and casual attire is suggested. The family requests that no flowers be sent.
Linda would like to thank Dr. Litton and all the chemo nurses at Utah Cancer Specialists as well as the nurses and aides from Intermountain Hospice for taking such good care of Russ.
