Lativia Tuaone Kolomalu Ika

1956 ~ 2020

Lativia Tuaone Kolomalu Ika, 1956-2020, at age 63 a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend peacefully returned to our Heavenly Father on February 18th, 2020 in Los Angeles, California. Lativia was born in Fahefa, Tonga to loving parents, Viliata Feletoa Tuaone and Mele Pilimilose Ita'aehau. She was number eight of their fifteen children.

Lativia served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Los Angeles, California. Only after a week of courtship Lativia and Sitiveni Feliki Ika decided to become Eternal companions. They were the second couple to be married and sealed in the Nuku'alofa Tonga Temple on August 12, 1983. Lativia and Sitiveni were blessed to have eight children: Emaile (John) Akanesi, Hulita, Rexilyn, Tulukinga, Kalisitofa. Heilala (Vainga) Heialeni, Murdoc, Mosaati, Vainga. Paul (Eva) Semisi and Sariah. Paeasia (Filipe) Soakai, Mele, Seneti, Keriann. Sione. Mosese (Sokopeti) Lativia, Feliki. Keriann, and Marilyn.

Lativia will always be remembered for her loving and giving nature, whether it's counsel or advice, an open door to her home, material needs or just her time. She dedicated herself to raising her children while serving and living the gospel of Jesus Christ faithfully. She had a genuine love for her family and loved to be around them as often as she could. She found so much joy in music, dancing, laughing, making jokes and especially being around her grandkids. Lativia's love and spirit could light up a home in an instant and be the center of attention. The smile she carried could make the rain disappear and "LIGHT THE WORLD". Her greatest gift she could've ever shared was her testimony that the Savior lives. Her words were simple, but the spirit was powerful. She was admired so much for her desire to be obedient to our Heavenly Father. In every occasion in life, Lativia's answers were as simple as, "leave it to the Lord and we will see the blessings." Lativia's life is one to aspire to. Wherever she was, the love and compassion shown was uncontainable. She was the perfect example of a disciple of Christ. We know that the day Lativia slipped away, God's Army gained a secret weapon in her. Her physical presence will be greatly missed, but her legacy, lessons and example will remain with us eternally.

A wife, best friend, our big sister, our MOM. We love you.
