George Allen Plott

1919 ~ 2014

Our father, George Allen Plott, passed away on June 29, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 17, 1919 in Murray, Utah to Felix and Filomena Delcorio Plott. George married his childhood friend, Ellen Ruth Mark on April 19, 1944. Together they lovingly raised 5 children.

After graduating from Murray High School, he served in the Army Air Force during WWII. Retired from Kennecott Copper after 38 years. He then worked with the Salt Lake Sherriff's Department as a crossing guard. He loved farming, carpentry, and growing gigantic sunflowers. He and Ellen enjoyed their "working" trips in Wendover. Up until his passing, George remained active gardening, walking and taking trips to see his family. Those lives that he touched will remember him fondly. We will miss him dearly!

Survived by sons, Mark, George and Craig (Midge) Pallotta, daughter Pamela (Randy) Winn, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, daughter Sunny (Lynn) Munns, brothers Joe, Gene, Nick and Henry, sisters Marciel and Virginia.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church, 1375 East Spring Lane. A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6-7:30pm with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:30pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) in Sandy and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.
