Nancy Lou Trelawney Christensen passed away Friday, February 25th at her home in West Valley City. Nancy was born May 5th, 1941 in Salt Lake City to Wilton and Lillian Trelawney. She grew up in Salt Lake and graduated from Granite High School In 1959 . In October1960 she married the love of her life Gerald “Gary” Christensen and together they had four children: Gary, Cindy, Holly, and Will.

Nancy quickly found her calling in life to help and advocate for people with special needs, she worked as a paraeducator at Hartvigsen School where she taught and helped kids in a variety of ways, but her favorite was teaching and making ceramics. She was a talented creator who loved working on a variety of projects that she was always willing to share with people. In her later years she loved working with beaded jewelry, cross stitch and crochet.

She loved her family with all her heart and her family loved her right back. She was always quick with a joke or an off-the-wall comment. Her nieces loved her fiercely and always called her Crazy Aunt Nancy, and meant it in the most loving way.

She and her husband shared a love of the outdoors and nature. After retirement, summers were spent taking their trailer to the Uinta Mountains, which was their home away from home. They were able to be camp hosts at several different campsites and loved every minute of it.

Nancy was a wonderful care giver. She has taken care of her special needs son for his entire life, and took care of her husband Gary for 10 years after he was diagnosed with Alzheimers

Survived by her sister and best friend Carolyn Goodsell, her four children Gary Christensen, Cindy Mehdy, Holly Christensen, and Will Christensen (Melissa), her 13 grandchildren, and an ever-expanding group of great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, her brother Charles Trelawney, his wife Janet, her brother-in-law Dan Goodsell, nephew Keith Goodsell and her husband Gary..
