NanEtte Hyde Clark

1937 ~ 2022

NanEtte passed away peacefully in her sleep on 6 April 2022 at her home in Las Vegas, Nevada.

· Mother of seven children: Jared, Heather, Trevor, Nathan, Robin, Colin, and Duane.

· Six Eagle Scouts.

· Seven missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Eight, if you count her and nine if you count her husband.

NanEtte was born in Logan, Utah on 28 May 1937. Youngest of four, born to Willard Parry Hyde & Sara Brown Robbins, raised in Springville, Utah.

NanEtte contracted polio as a senior in high school. Polio left her immune system in tatters, eventually causing her to lose most of her hearing. To strengthen her body, she became a lifeguard at Park Roche while attending Brigham Young University. In 1961, she was called to serve a mission in the North British mission (Northern England & Scotland). She loved her mission, the people, and the privilege of teaching others about Jesus Christ.

During her mission, she met her eternal companion, Rodney Jim Clark. On 21 June 1963, she and Rodney were married in the Salt Lake City Temple. Two years later they were off to Los Angeles, California. They started their family soon after arriving in LA. This is where NanEtte also started her life long love affair with Scouting.

She served in Scouting for 45 years, from 1965 until 2010. In 2006, she received the Silver Beaver Award, the highest award that the local council can give. Rod received that award on the same day; she would jokingly say that she put in much more work than him and he may have not deserved it as much as she did.

NanEtte's first love was music which was passed down to her from her father. She was in the high school band. Every Sunday morning she could be found playing hymns on her piano. She also made chimes that she would bring out during family events to try to instill her same love of music to her children.

NanEtte was also very creative. While living in Delta, Utah in the 1980s she started painting. Her paintings are cherished by her family and adorn their home to this day. She also loved crafts and was always saving something for a project.

NanEtte was unwavering in her testimony of Jesus Christ and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was always willing and ready to share her testimony and to support her kids and others. She served in various callings within the church throughout her life. She loved serving, particularly with children, and would diligently prepare to serve them each week.

NanEtte was tenacious. When she set out to do something, you could count on it to be completed. Whether it was helping her children obtain their Eagle Scout Awards or preparing to serve a mission, you could always rely on her for support. She dealt with polio and extreme loss of hearing, but she was undeterred and lived her life on her terms.
