Nathan, or Nate as he liked to be called, was the 3rd child and first boy born to Samuel H. and Nanalee Kershaw in Mesa, AZ., January 16, 1973. His dad was so happy to have a boy after two girls.

As a child he loved airplanes, going to airshows with his dad and his brothers and participating in anything sports related, and scouting. He also loved Christmas and he would be the first one to the tree on Christmas morning. He collected sports cards and could tell you about any player and their stats. Nate had a loving relationship with his family and enjoyed spending time with his 7 siblings.

Nate graduated from Bingham High School, where he participated on the Cross-country team that took State his senior year. After High School, Nate was called as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Utah Jordan River Temple. He loved being a missionary and serving the Savior, Jesus Christ.

Nate was a big BYU fan and would often be found wearing head to toe BYU gear. He was a responsible, hard worker and enjoyed getting to work early, reading his newspaper, and working a full day. He had an infectious smile, a great sense of humor, was a big tease and friendly to everyone he met. He was a pro at navigating the bus system all over the valley. When he wasn’t riding the bus, he loved to walk.

He loved his nineteen nieces and nephews and they all loved their uncle Nate. His life has blessed ours and he will be greatly missed, but we take comfort knowing that we will see him again and that families are forever.

Nate is survived by his mother Nanalee Kershaw Gardner and stepfather Ross Gardner; brothers Matthew (Jaime), Seth (Heidi), and Joel; sisters Melissa Glasker (Stephen), Tiffani Thomson (John), Sara Philip (Marvin), and Kelli Veamatahau (Sione); and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Samuel Henry Kershaw and grandparents, Henry G. and Naomi Kershaw and Leon and Betty Aiken.

A viewing will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens, Friday, January 26, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will be January 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the LDS Chapel 89 E. 11000 S. Sandy. Viewing before the service will be from 10:00-10:45 AM at the chapel.
