It is with great sadness that the family of Bonnie Jean Leonard, announces her passing on Saturday, August 24, 2019, at the age of 76. Bonnie was born on January 5, 1943 in San Jose California, to Lyle Wayne Fredrickson and Ora Wall Fredrickson. Bonnie will be lovingly remembered and missed by her sweetheart of 39 years, Douglas Richard Leonard.
Before her illness, she spent her time camping, shooting, watching her boys ride BMX and spending time with her family and friends. She was a regular Annie Oakley and could out-shoot her sweetheart. She enjoyed cooking, listening to country music, watching old movies and Little House on the Prairie. We all knew when we were "home" we would be well fed with fresh bread and delicious homemade meals. Nobody ever went hungry at mom's house.
Bonnie was survived by her husband Douglas R. Leonard, their combined family consisting of children Steven W. Diamond (Connie), Bonnie J. Brooks (Todd), Aaron Diamond, Tami Leonard, Bryan J. Leonard (Lori Jo), Doug Leonard Jr. (Kim), Linda Leonard, Don E. Leonard. Sister-in-Law and Lifelong best friend, Lenore Baxter. Her large family includes 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, 2 sisters (Joni and Lori) and 2 brothers (Bill and Todd).
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Daughter (Kathy Steadman), grandson (Adam Leonard), 2 great grandchildren (Megan Christine Braithwaite & Jerec Steadman), 3 brothers (Lyle, Mike and Bob), 2 sisters (Gay and Georgina). There will not be a formal service held but a celebration of life gathering will be held for family and close friends at a later date.
