There is not enough words to write all my favorite memories of Noah. He was so much fun to be around. From the moment I met him I knew he was special, full of life and love, and so very adventurous. He spoke to me non-stop for many minutes when I first met him and then apologized for not being fully awake. I knew right then that he was a ball of energy and so much fun. Telling a joke about a dress tie, taking a blow up boat onto the Delaware River, making us take a hike that got us caught in the pouring rain. The list of fun memories that include Noah go on and on. He will be immensely missed by so very many people. We love you, Noah. Thoughts, prayers, hugs, and tears go out to his family on a daily basis. Much love to you all.

Obituary
Noah was called home October 2nd, 2026. He resided in Stansbury Park, Utah with his beautiful family. Noah retired from the United States Air Force and was currently working at the Salt Lake International Airport as the Transportation Security Specialist- Explosives with the TSA. Noah was proud of his knowledge in explosives and loved sharing his countless stories of his experiences.
Noah was born on April 25th, 1979, in Palmer, Alaska to Dennis Cheney and Karen Montandon Thompson. He grew up in Northern California and spent his teenage years in Strawberry, California. He graduated from Summerville High School in June 1997. Noah loved the outdoors and had high grades as far as outdoor adventures go during high school. He formed a love of rock climbing and became very educated in the sport. Most of his pictures from his teenage years included Noah and his best friend shirtless and flexing. Noah enjoyed Cheney family reunions and holidays up at the Dardanelle Resort that his grandparents owned.
Noah served an LDS mission in Detroit, Michigan, then after returning home, attended Ricks College in Rexburg, ID. There, he received his associate's degree in outdoor recreation and met the love of his life, Tiffany Fox. Noah and Tiffany were married in the Jordan River LDS Temple, sealed for time and all eternity on July 7th, 2001. Later, after moving to Provo Utah, he received his fire and rescue certification from Utah Valley University, followed by a bachelor's degree in homeland security from American Military University. Noah and Tiffany have 5 beautiful children and have experienced so much life together. Noah served 20 dedicated years in the United States Air Force as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Tech. Noah was deployed often, took part in many missions, and received various accolades for his service. Tiffany and Noah made close friends with many fellow military families who were Tiffany's support while Noah was gone. They were stationed in Florida, South Carolina, Idaho, Texas, California and Virginia.
Noah was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in various callings including Elders Quorum, primary teacher, young men leader, Sunday school teacher, and his most favorite - Scoutmaster.
Noah was an extreme hobbyist, and was often on to his next wild adventure. He was passionate about the outdoors and loved spending his time camping, hiking, repelling, rock climbing, snow shoeing, kayaking or taking the family out for a ride in the side by side. Noah was also very persuasive and could convince nearly anyone to join him on these crazy (and sometimes dangerous) outings. You always knew you were in for an adventure when he'd say, "Come on, it'll be fun!" Many memories include lots of laughter, adventure, fun, and usually injuries. People who know Noah, know how accident prone he was and that he somehow managed to make that contagious.
Noah lit up every room and was the life of every party. He had a way of bringing fun and joy into any situation. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
Noah is survived by his amazing wife, Tiffany Fox Cheney; children, Kaylie (Tyler) Halvorsen, Braydon Cheney, Alex Cheney, Addison Cheney, Ella Cheney; mother, Karen Montandon Thompson; brothers, Jason Cheney, Adam (Maria) Cheney; step-mother, Janice Cheney; multiple brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces & nephews; and Grandpa Clifford Cheney who he absolutely adored. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Dennis Cheney, and in-laws, Owen & Kathy Foх.
A visitation will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 5369 North Aberdeen Ln, Stansbury Park, Utah on Monday, October 19th from 6:00-8:00pm, and Tuesday, October 20th from 8:00-9:30am. Funeral services will be held at the same location on Tuesday, October 20th at 10:00 am with a graveside at 1:00 pm at the Utah Veterans Cemetery located at 17111 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Bluffdale, UT.

We were stationed in Idaho with Noah and his family. Their family was always such an example of love and service!
I loved serving with him in YM in Marysville. He was a ball of energy and great with kids. I cherish the time I git to spend with him. Your family is an amazing example of service to our Heavenly Father. I'm so very sorry for your loss. We send our love to your family.
We feel truly blessed to have been your neighbor and friend. Our time together at Beale, watching our children play and grow together is a cherished memory for our entire family. Thank you for your service, your kindness, and the memories you and your beautiful family gave us. Sending all of our love.
Noah lit up any room or outdoor space he was in. The smile on his face was always there. He made me happy. Thank you for being the amazing person you were to all of us.
Noah was a waterfall of goofy goodness. He was up for any adventure and just a pleasure to be with in the outdoors! We worked together at Rick’s College Badger Creek in the summer of 2000. He shares joy and spunk the whole time. Although my conversations were few through social media, he was always happy to share in our mutual joy of family, kids and successes. He is sorely missed and this world needs more like Noah right now. I’m sure his children and wife will spread his kindness just by the nature of who they are and the influence Noah had in their lives. Sure do love ya Noah and family!!!
