Noal Franz Peterson was born on June 3, 1938. He passed away on January 13, 2026 surrounded by loving family.

Born to James Edward and Lila Hansen Peterson in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Noal served in the US Navy from 1957 to 1959. He was stationed in Guam. He was a boatsman on the admiral’s barge.

He married Nelda Peterson on January 14, 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Nelda passed away on June 21, 2024. They shared a loving marriage for 63 years. Noal was sealed to Nelda in the Jordan River Temple on July 26, 2025. He was very happy to be sealed to Nelda.

Noal was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a friend to everyone he met. He loved helping people and even in his later years would always ask if he could help them with anything. He was the ultimate handyman. There was not anything he could not fix with duct tape or bailing twine.

Noal loved being outdoors. He loved to set up the big tent during hunting season and hunt with his dad, brothers, son, son-in-law and grandson. He was passionate about fishing. He proudly displayed the big marlin that he caught in Mexico. He would show it off to anyone who came to his house. He loved boating every weekend with his friends at local lakes when he had his small boat. When they got their bigger boats, they started boating at Lake Powell. There are so many memories made when we were growing up.

Noal worked at Eimco, Kennecott and Utah Power and Light. When he was working for UP&L they moved to Ferron Utah where they lived for 30 years. Dad made many friends in Ferron. He loved living in Ferron. He called it “God’s Country”. They moved to Riverton Utah 10 years ago, where they were dearly loved by their kind neighbors.

Noal was proceeded in death by his parents, great grandson Dylan Vrooman, sister Sandra McKee, brother and best friend Lynn Peterson and his loving wife Nelda.

He is survived by his daughters, Noreen (Ryan) Pruyt, Natalie, (Paul) Brenneman and son Phillip (Amy) Peterson. 9 Grandchildren and 13 Great Granddhildren.

We would like to thank those at Carrington Court, who took such great care of our dad. A special thank you to Casey and Carrie Seely, who adopted Noal and Nelda as their own.

He truly was a great man. We are going to miss him so much.
