Obituary

Norma Going Wolfgramm Hafoka-Me'e, age 75, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Riverton, Utah.

Norma was born on December 23, 1950, in Nuku'alofa, Tongatapu, Tonga, to Iohani and Salote Wolfgramm. She was the twelfth of nineteen children. In 1965, she immigrated with her family to the United States, where she later met and married John Brent Dean. Together they had four children—Taunya, Reed, Wayne, and Travis—and later welcomed an adopted daughter, Anya.

Following her divorce in 1993, Norma took a trip to Anchorage, Alaska, where she met and married the love of her life Sione Vaikoula Me'e and moved there with her children. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service, and even raised a few of their grandchildren as their own.

Throughout her life, Norma worked in many occupations, including casket manufacturing, housekeeping, security, and the food service industry. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully as an ordinance worker in the Anchorage Alaska Temple for over 20+ years. She also served as a family history consultant and later completed a service mission alongside her husband, Sione.

Norma found joy in Polynesian dancing, teaching those dances to the younger generation, genealogy, camping, fishing, sewing blankets, and watching classic films such as The Sound of Music and The King and I. She believed wholeheartedly that children should experience the joy of childhood. Whether they were her own children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, church children, or neighborhood kids, she made sure they were well fed, well loved, and always had something fun to do.

To many, Norma was far more than just a grandmother or just an aunt—she was a mother to everyone. Her home was a place of love, guidance, laughter, and belonging, and her influence reached across generations. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, compassion, humility, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Norma is survived by eleven siblings: Malina, Taiana, Tisina, Samuela, Walter, Leilani, Florence, Elsie, Tila, Iuni, and Semisi; her children, Taunya (Taumoha'apai), Reed, Wayne (Fernanda), Travis (Kalala), and Anya (Vili); 28 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Iohani and Salote Wolfgramm; seven siblings: Ana, Sale, Napoleone, Maikeli, Richard, 'Ofa Moana, and Lose; and her beloved husband, Sione Vaikoula Me'e.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 12691 South 3600 West, Riverton, Utah 84065.
