Siniteke Sika Vea

1954 ~ 2013

After gathering all her loved ones by invitation to a family reunion, and in their presence, Siniteke Sika Vea accepted the call of her Heavenly Father to return home. Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunty, leader, and a friend to countless individuals passed through the veil of death early Friday morning, August 2nd 2013.

(Teke) as she was known was a colorful individual that drew in her experiences dependently on her God given understanding of life. At the age of 14 Teke was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Making this choice made all her future roads visible to take. She was solemnly sealed and married to the love of her life, our father Telema Vea, for all time and eternity.

Teke was contagious by nature, a smile that would light up the sky, talents that were not only seen but felt, and a will power to soak and share all goodness with those around her. It was easy for her to love, listen, protect and serve others because that was her passion. With these characteristics, she held many callings from Relief Society President to Stake Primary President and all callings in between. She learned to put others before herself and to love unconditionally. All her energy and generosity was felt by all who came in contact with her. She loved all those she served and magnified these callings to the best of her knowledge. Of all her earthly possessions the one she loved most was her eternal treasures from God, her family. They were everything to her. They were her daily breaths, her desire to do good, her optimistic outlooks and her everyday heartbeats. She loved the family sit downs where there was plenty laughter, food, teasing, and memory building. She loved genealogy, she loved her extended family, and she loved all things eternal because she loves God.

Teke is survived by her husband Telema Vea, and 6 children Winona (Vili) Mahina, Telema Jr (Faye) Vea, Jenny Sika, Jacqueline Vea, Quentina Vea and Elder Giovanni Misitana Vea. She also has 14 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, 2 sisters and 5 brothers. She will always be the one who everyone ran to, the one that loved us all, the voice of reassurance, the great exemplar of faith. She will always be our mother and the woman that took no nonsense but revealed all truth. She will always be in our hearts and we are all going to miss her dearly. WE LOVE YOU MOM! Until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held at 11am-12pm on Saturday August 10th 2013 at the Pioneer Stake Center, 700 South 1400 West. A visitation will be held on Friday at the same church from 6pm-9pm and Saturday morning from 9am-11am.
