Nyle Orlando “Tex” Dailey II passed on early Monday morning, September 12th, 2022 with so much life left to live. He was 92 years old and very proud of reaching that milestone.
Tex was born on September 6th, 1930 to Nyle Orlando and Rosanna Hughes Dailey in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He is the oldest of two children, with a younger sister, Sandra Bea Dailey Richards.
At 18, he was drafted by the Army and served at Camp Roberts, California. While he was serving, his father was severely injured in a car accident leaving him with severe disabilities. This required Tex to obtain a hardship discharge to return home and take on the responsibility of caring for his family. He worked for Western Supply Company, Showcase Appliance, and Appliance Service Inc. He was a very hard worker and continued to work up until the ripe old age of 90 years old.
He had met his wife, Reva Faye Hanks, while attending East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah. They were married on August 26, 1950. Together, they had 9 children: Rodney Nyle “Butch”, Richard Scott, Robert Michael “Mickey”, Rodger Steven, Ronald Mark, Robyn Michelle, Ross Edward, Ray Martin, and Rebecca Anne.
Dad was a very kind, quiet, and caring person. He would never tell you, but you always knew how much he loved you. He sacrificed whatever was necessary to take care of his family. Dad was also a dog lover and deeply cherished his dogs. His greatest accomplishments were his wife, Faye, of 72 years, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He lived for the moments when his kids and grandkids would come and visit. It was important to him to always make sure he had something for each of them during their time with him. He never said much, but you could see it in his beautiful eyes how happy it made him when they came.
Preceded in death by his parents, Nyle and Rosanna. Sons, Ross Edward, and Robert Michael “Mickey”, and his many, many dogs.
Survived by his wife, Reva Faye Hanks Dailey. Children Butch & Connie Dailey, Scott & Jeanne Dailey, Steve, and Heidi Dailey, Mark & Robyn Cherrington, Mark Dailey, Marty & Debbie Dailey, and Richard & Becky Harston. 25 Grandchildren 40 great-grandchildren, his sister, Sandy, and his dog, Sammy!
Services and viewing will be private and for family only. If you would like to send condolences to Faye and the Dailey Family, you can do so on the Larkin Website or get in touch with any of the children.
