Amy Struhs

1972 ~ 2014

Amy Sarah Zundel Struhs returned to her Heavenly Father on July 30, 2014 after a heroic battle with breast cancer.

Amy was born on September 11, 1972 in Pocatello, Idaho. Amy moved with her family to Salt Lake City, Utah where she excelled in academics and pursued her love for gymnastics as a cheerleader at Skyline High School. Amy graduated with honors from the University of Utah where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority and a friend to all. It was there she met her true love, Tony Struhs and the two were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 8, 1995.

Always a child at heart, Amy loved sharing her testimony of the Savior with the primary children and Young Women where she served as an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Amy's remarkable inner and outer beauty was enhanced by her trademark modesty and gift for building others. We will truly miss her vibrant laugh and sense of humor that triumphed amidst any challenge. Amy was a person of strong character and always stood up for what she believed to be right. These qualities made her the most beloved daughter, sister, niece, friend, wife and mother.

Amy cherished her family above all and is survived by her husband Tony, children Sophia, Collin and Elizabeth; sister JenniMarchant (John), brothers Jared Zundel (Stacey) and Jonathan Zundel (Alex); father Michael Zundel; and in-laws Patrick and Sharon Struhs, Kelly Struhs (Heather), Dannielle Struhs, Nicholas Struhs (Sara). She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice Zundel.

Amy continuously expressedgratitude to her long-time doctor and friend, Dan Henry, Dr. Saundra Buys and her staff at Huntsman Cancer Institute, Dr. Josh Schiffman, her friends, family, church and community for their countless hours of loving service.
