Delina Abecia Rostain

1926 ~ 2019

Delina Abecia Rostain was born on November 10, 1926 to Nemesia and Benjamin Abecia in Oruro, Bolivia. She was the second child of eight. Her work in public health started in 1947 in interior South American countries, exposing her to a milieu of cultures. Delina arrived to New York City in 1963 to further her career. Her children Miriam and Susan arrived in New York in 1965. Soon after they moved to Southern California where Delina\s career took off and her children flourished.

Delina met Jacques Rostain in 1963 and they married June 2, 1990 in Stamford, Connecticut. Delina and Jacques spent their retirement in Sun City West, Arizona. Their life together was full of arts and adventure as they traveled the world. Delina enjoyed attending artistic performances, and discovered her talent in many mediums including sewing and jewelry-making.

She leaves behind her two children Miriam and Susan Vogelfanger, four grandchildren Alejandro, Gustavo, Marko, and Franchesca, three great-grandchildren Alaina, Camilla, and Siena, five step-children from Jacques' side Anthony, Carine, Tanina, Alain, and David, and five step-grandchildren Isabelle, Julian, Joseph, Mila, and Leonardo.
