Ronald Lynn Roskelley

1940 ~ 2016

Ronald Lynn Roskelley, age 76, died on March 8th, 2016 of natural causes quietly at his home. Ron was born March 8th, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to Dr. Rigby Clyde Roskelley and Nedra Tribe Roskelley. He has three brothers, David, John, and James, and one sister Rebecca. A life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Ron served a mission for the LDS church from 1961 ‚ 1963 in the Northwest States Mission. He was sealed to Georgia Ann Duche on December 18th, 1963 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Ron earned a B.A. in Sociology from Brigham Young University in 1968, and a M.A. in Substance Abuse Counseling from Governors State in Illinois in 1976. He found great satisfaction in his chosen career as a drug addiction and alcohol abuse counselor. In this capacity he offered hope and healing to hundreds of people struggling with addiction. Although he was proud of the many accomplishments of his career, he always stated that his greatest contribution to the world was his posterity. He loved his family very much and was very proud of them.

Ron suffered from heart disease for over 40 years and it is amazing that he had as many years with his family as he did. We tribute this to the many wonderful medical professionals who treated him throughout his illness and his own tenacious spirit.

Ron is survived by all his wife Georgia, his 4 siblings, his 4 children, Scott Rigby Roskelley (Linda), Michael David Roskelley (Tangles), Stacy Lynne Clarkson (Joe), and Erin Anne Roskelley, along with 15 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
