Betty Kathleen Harris Murray took her next step in our Heavenly Father\s plan on Monday, April 11, 2016, where she is with her devoted husband, Kenneth William Murray, and loved ones. She will be dearly missed by her 5 surviving children, Maralyn Hope West, K. Alan Murray, Kathleen Hedquist, Douglas Murray, and Barbara Rovig. Her sons William and John preceded her in death. She has 26 grandchildren and 40+ great grandchildren.
Betty was born on June 28, 1924 in Boise, Idaho to George Lewis and Leona Holman Harris, and raised in Chin, Alberta, Canada. She married Kenneth William Murray for time and all eternity in the Cardston Alberta LDS temple on September 11, 1946. They started their family in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. They later moved to Detroit Michigan. After retirement they lived in Palm Desert, Las Vegas, and Utah.
Betty blessed her family and friends with loving kindness, seeking and creating beauty. She gardened, painted, cooked and knit, cheerfully sharing with all. She touched and helped many. Betty was a daughter of Utah pioneers, a temple worker, a family history missionary and served in numerous callings for the LDS church.
Services will be held Saturday, 16 April at 11:00 a.m. at 413 North West Capitol Street, Salt Lake City, with viewing prior at 10:00. A viewing will also be held Friday, 15 April from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple. Interment at Salt Lake City cemetery.
