Ora Dee Alexander Hardy

1922 ~ 2017

Our loving mother, devoted wife, doting grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on the morning of May 5th, 2017 with her family by her side after battling vascular dementia. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Ora Dee was born October 14th, 1922 in Ripley, Tennessee to William M. and Alma Earle Bryan Alexander. She was the eldest and only sister of three brothers; Doyle, Nelvice and Albert. She and her family later moved to California and it was there she met the love of her life, Emerson Lynn Hardy while he was serving his LDS mission. They were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple, November 19th, 1943. Together they had 4 children. As world travelers, they visited many countries together always bringing home such wonderful stories and treasures. Her California Study Group was very near and dear to her heart. They were the best of friends throughout her life. She prided herself in being the ultimate hostess. There was no detail left undone. Holidays will never be the same. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do to put a smile on our faces. An abundance of memories will forever be kept in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Ora Dee is survived by her brother, Albert (Thelma) Alexander; children, Bill (Carol), and Robin Aragon; and grandchildren, Jessica, Travis, Chris (Ashley), Ashley (Bronson), Shawn (Katrina), and Sam; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Christian, Nathan, Holly, Benjamin, Andrew, Alexis, Auty and Angel. Proceeded in death by her husband, Emer, two daughters, Barbara and Janis, and grandson Nicholas.

On behalf of Ora Dee and her family, we would like to extend our gratitude to Comfort Worx Hospice with a special thanks to her caregiver, Carol, and her hospice nurse, Christian. You are both heaven sent. Thank you for your loving care of our sweet Ora Dee, lover of all things chocolate.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, May 11th, 2017 at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. A mausoleum dedication will follow at City View Memoriam, 1001 11th Ave., Salt Lake City, Utah.
