Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend Carla McBride Berger passed away at her home on July 21, 2014 surrounded by her family after a nine year courageous bout with ovarian cancer, having endured multiple treatments.
Carla is preceded in death and now joins her beloved husband, Rolf Helmut Berger, her daughter Katherine Johanna, and her parents Georgia and Willard McBride. She is survived by her children David Rolf Berger (Stephen), Nicholas James Berger (Jessica), Joseph Helmut Berger (Amanda), and Alisa Jane Berger, and her sister Jane McBride Choate (Larry). Her grandchildren include Alexis, Andrew, Madeline, Avery, William, and Lily. They adored their grandmother and were the delight of her life.
Carla was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She exemplified the love of the Savior through her patience, compassion, and love for others. She considered being a fulltime mother and then grandmother her both vocation and avocation. Her last act of service for her church was to go visiting teaching, a calling she took very personally.
A loving and devout woman, Carla kept her covenants here on earth and will continue to keep covenants in the next life. Nothing was more important to her than her faith and her family, which she saw as inextricably connected.

A viewing will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens at 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) on Friday, July 25, from 6-8 pm. A viewing will also be held on Saturday, July 26, from 10 ‚ 10:45 am, followed by services at the LDS Chapel at 2126 East Gyrfalcon Drive (10000 South), Sandy, UT on Saturday, July 26,2014, at 11 a.m.
