Susan Kay Garcia

1955 ~ 2019

On Tuesday October 1, we lost our beautiful wife, mother, and "Grammy Sue." Susan was born in Afton, Wyoming on Sept 3, 1955 to Alma and Burma Skinner. Her father moved the family to Salt Lake City, UT when she was 7 years old. While attending West High she met the love of her life Frank Garcia. Frank and Susan were married on September 24, 1973 and for the next 46 years, you hardly saw them apart. Frank and Susan raised 4 kids Eric, Russell, Gina, and Elisa. When their kids were still young Frank and Susan moved to West Jordan. Susan passed her love of her generation's music to her kids. She taught her kids unconditional love and charity. More often than not, you could find many adopted neighborhood kids that enjoyed an extra scoop of potatoes at the dinner table, an ear for listening, and a house for comfort. Susan was known for her charity, always making sure to brighten many kids' Christmases. At times this meant her kids eating ramen for a week. Susan and Frank moved to Herriman so she could enjoy the "country life." Susan loved her grandchildren and jumped at every chance to spoil them, sometimes to Frank's objections. Susan will be loved and missed "Always and forever."

Susan was preceded in death by her Father Alma Skinner and Sister Shannon Ogden. She is survived by her husband Frank Garcia, son Eric Garcia (Cristylyn), son Russell Garcia (Keri), daughter Gina Stong (Seth), daughter Elisa Garcia (Kyle), and many grandkids.

Services will be held in Susan's honor on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Larkin Mortuary Riverton Chapel, 3688 West 12600 South beginning at 12 PM. A visitation will be held Friday, October 4, 2019 from 6-8 PM and prior to services on Saturday beginning at 11 AM in the same location. Interment at Herriman City Cemetery.

You'll never be forgotten, that simply cannot be. As long as I am living, I'll carry you with me. Safely tucked within my heart, your light will always shine; A glowing ember never stilled, throughout the end of time. No matter what the future brings, or what may lie ahead, I know that you will walk with me, along the path I tread. So rest my angel, be at peace and let your soul fly free. One day I'll join your glorious flight for all eternity.
