She married Carl D. Fox on February 26, 1972. Doris was a hard working employee for the following companies Dutch Boy Paints, Sears and Roebuck, Tupperware, Amway, and NuVision. She retired as a dispatcher from the National Automobile Club in February of 2008.

Doris was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. By far her greatest treasure other than her family was her testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. She served in the church in many capacities, but one of her favorite positions was that as a Ward Missionary. She and her husband Carl spent many dinners and luncheons feeding the full-time missionaries in their South San Francisco area. Doris always did her best to be happy and cheerful to those around her. She loved to give of herself. Many of her family and friends were recipients of her crocheted and knitted gifts. She enjoyed genealogy, family history, photography, knitting, crocheting, bowling, darts, reading, and playing cards (Cribbage, Pinochle, Canasta and Uno) but her favorite hobby was spending time with her family, she loved them all so very much and would spend as much time as she could with them. She was instrumental in starting the Burnham Family Organization in 1970.

The family would like to thank all of her caregivers who became her friends, for their love and quality service while she was in their care.
