Frank C Shamy

1932 ~ 2013

Frank C Shamy left his earthly home of 81 years on Sept. 11, 2013. Brain cancer took his life. He was born September 12, 1932 in SLC to emigrant parents Charles K and Delia in Salt Lake City. He was a South High School cheerleader and loved being in the spotlight. He had a love for dancing which started with his win of a SLC jitterbug contest at age 12 and a reputation as the top ballroom dancer during his high school years.

He married his first wife, Jerrolyn (Jeri) Estella Earl in 1952. They had 6 children and had much joy in raising 5 of them to adulthood and always grieved the loss of their baby daughter Teresa. Frank sent 4 sons on missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was very proud of all his children and their many accomplishments and personal character.

He was an exceptional salesman, at age 6 selling corsages in front of the Rainbow Rendezvous (Terrace) It was said of him \"he could sell ice to an Eskimo!\" He was successful as a manufacturers' rep for top textile companies. Frank was a people person. If you knew him youwere special to him.

Frank married his second wife, Brenda K Severin in 1988. They spent their summers in Bountiful, UT and winters in Palm Springs, CA enjoying tennis, golf and card games.

He is loved by those who remain, wife, Brenda; children: David (Sharon), Debbie (Brad) Wilkinson, Kevin (Rhonda), Lyndon (Kim), and Darin (Rebecca); 24 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren. Also survived by his sister, Lee Daniels, and his brothers John, Joe and his first wife Jeri (Scott) Fisher.

Preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Teresa; sisters: Annie Shamy, Lillian Hasna, brother, Fred, grandson Joshua Shamy and great granddaughters Grace and Hazel Wilkinson.

Funeral services: Saturday September 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Stone Creek Ward Chapel on 1476 N 300 W Bountiful, UT. Viewings will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 6 PM to 8 PM at Larkin Mortuary at 260 E South Temple, SLC and 1 hour before the funeral at the Chapel.
