Richard David Clawson passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on his 60th birthday, July 13, 2014. The former resident of Columbus OH was born July 13, 1954, in Fontana CA.
He was preceded in death by his father General Wilburn (Bill) Clawson and stepmother Jewel Dean Clawson of Johnson City TN; and brother General (Gene) Clawson Jr of Columbus OH.
He is survived by his wife Margaret Asalyn; sons Richard Jr., Nathaniel and Cory; his mother Inez Clawson of Columbus OH; his brother Randy (Monique) Clawson of Austin TX; his sister Nancy (Mitchell) Mereska of Two Hills, Alberta; his sister-in-law Christine (Martin) Rauckis of Westerville OH; and many loving nieces and nephews.
He loved the Lord and was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, especially with home teaching. He served a mission in Orlando FL. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend.
A viewing will be held Thursday, July 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Copperhill 5th Ward, 4333 So. 6400 W., West Valley City. Funeral services will be Friday, July 18, 11 a.m., at the ward with a viewing before the funeral beginning at 10 a.m. Condolences welcomed at www.larkinmortuary.com
