Eddie R. Kershaw

1930 ~ 2016

Eddie \"Buzz\" Ronald Kershawpassed away peacefully on January 23, 2016 from causes incident to age. He was born in Salt Lake City as the fourth of seven children to Edison Ray and Nellie Kest Kershaw. Eddie was always proud to have been born and raised on the west side of Salt Lake City. He attended west side schools and graduated from West High School. He married the love of his life, Ruth Duncombe, in 1951 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they shared an amazing 64 years of marriage. Eddie served his country honorably during the Korean War. He worked in the printing industry for many years and retired from the Newspaper Agency Corp. where he made many lifelong friends. He served his community for several years as a volunteer firefighter for the South Salt Lake Fire Department. He was active in his church where he rendered much service, particularly to the elderly. Eddie was a good guy who loved life and cared about other people. In spite of physical difficulties in his later years, he was able to maintain his good nature and caring attitude.

Over the years, Eddie loved to golf, hunt, garden, occasionally travel, attend high school reunions, and visit on the front porch with his many family members, friends, and neighbors. His real love and greatest accomplishment was his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family in various settings and being surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bill and Gordy, sisters Deon and Carol. He is survived by his loving wife Ruth, his children Kevin (Judy), Susan Bagley (Troy), Kyle (Edie), and Ron; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and his brothers Garry and Larry.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 29th, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at the LDS Haven Ward Chapel, 2280 S 300 E, SLC, UT. Friends and family may call on Thursday, January 28th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Haven Ward Chapel, and again on Friday, January 29th, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Larkin Sunset Gardens.
