Ronald Willis Sanford, beloved father and grandfather, died peacefully with his daughter Joni and granddaughter Jamie by his side on January 22, 2015.
Ron was born on December 27, 1932, to Clarence Adiel and May Elizabeth Sanford.
He married Vera Margie Smith on November 13, 1951. They were married for 63 years, later divorced.
Ron began working in the grocery business at the age of 15. He became a Store Director at Albertson's and retired after 39 years of exemplary service. He is remembered for his work ethic and kind treatment to everyone he met. Ron's greatest joy was helping others. He also enjoyed golfing, watching football, and traveling.
Survived by his sisters, Janet Webb and Marjorie Mellor; daughters Rhonda Lee (Broc Crookston), Joni Zenger, and Lisa (Scott) Rasmussen; grandchildren Jamie (Andrew) Thomas and Kevin (Kelly) Zenger; and great-grandchildren, Trinity Zenger, Tyson Zenger, and Kash Thomas.
Preceded in death by his parents, his older brother, Robert Sanford, and son-in-law Kevin Albert Zenger.
Services will be held Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the South Jordan 9th Ward chapel, 9750 South 2200 West. A viewing will be held that morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment at Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery, 2350 East 1300 South. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a written story or memory and if possible bring a photograph.
