James Douglas Larsen

1936 ~ 2016

James Douglas Larsen passed away on October 20, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born August 5, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James B. Larsen and Madeline Balderston Larsen. He was a graduate of West High in Salt Lake. Jim worked for Salt Lake County as a surveyor for thirty years.

He married Patricia Stevens Larsen on January 26, 1957 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

His children and their spouses are Gaylyn Larsen; Deborah and Randy Stebbing; Douglas M. and Diane Larsen; Michelle L. Larsen; Jeffrey B. and Anne Larsen. His son Doug preceded him in death. His brothers and sisters are Joanne Larsen Patten, John G.Larsen (deceased), Jean Larsen Richards and Jerry K. Larsen (deceased). He is also survived by his uncle Douglas H. and Laural Larsen. Jim is the proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter with more on the way!

Just after he was married he played semi-pro baseball. He loved sports, hunting, fishing and his family. He never met anyone he didn't like.

He served as Ward and Stake Mission leader, Scoutmaster, Elder\s Quorum President, High Priest Group Leader, High Council member and Bishop of the Edison Ward 1982-1987. His favorite calling was serving as the janitor of the LDS 5th Indian Ward.
