Non Moody Merrill, age 83, peacefully passed away at his home Friday, January 30, 2015 from leukemia. Raised in Price, UT by his parents Vernon Newlove Merrill and Zeela Moody who were both school teachers. He married Bonnie Grace Roberts in 1953, in the Manti, temple. They had 4 children (surviving) Monna Jo Merrill, Amos V. Merrill (Elsie), Yvonne Doolhoff and Jeremy Merrill (Gaylene).
He served in the army, taught secondary math in the public schools for many years and was a computer engineer at Hill Air Force Base. After divorcing in 1976, Non later married Renee Bannister who later died suddenly from a brain tumor. He married Barbara Hodson in the Salt Lake Temple in 1982 and grew to love her children (surviving) Beverly Ririe (Brent), Ray Merrill (Amy), Sarah Brunken (Jeff), and Todd Thompson. Barbara later died from breast cancer. Lost without his sweetheart, he met a wonderful companion in Cheryldene Vaughan Johnson and married her in 2007. Her children (surviving) Michael Johnson (Jennifer), Robert Johnson (Erin) and J (B). He is survived by 39 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by3 grandchildren and1 great grandchild.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
There will be a viewing Friday, February 6, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Stake Center located at 3495 West 4850 South, Taylorsville, UT. A Viewing from 9:00 am to 10:30 am will be on Saturday February 7, 2015 at the same location with the funeral at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
