Dwan Thompson Christensen

1963 ~ 2017

Our beautiful Dwan passed away in her home in Holladay on June 1st after battling brain cancer for almost 4 years. Dwan was born on January 23, 1963 to Gerald and Patricia Dwan Thompson. She attended Olympus High School and the University of Utah. Dwan married Brent Christensen, of Holladay, in 1983 and they lived and raised their three children in Holladay for 33 years.

Dwan was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was the life of the party in all that she did and was always concerned with the happiness of others. Her greatest happiness was being surrounded by her family and friends, and she was constantly planning activities, parties, and her next trip.

Dwan's life was full of charity, service, and love to everyone. She especially loved the youth and had church callings of being a leader and teacher for over 31 years to the young women ages 10 to 30. Her moto was "I got it!", and we were always amazed at all she was able to accomplish.

Dwan started a retail business where she happily worked with her husband and children for over 30 years. She loved to visit her stores and considered her employees her friends.

She is survived by her children Jessica Dwan Hiatt (Tyne) with grandchildren Makynli Dwan, Beckham, Blakely, and Hadley; Matthew (Natilee) with grandchildren Lucy Dwan, Adelaide, and Emmeline; and Riley (Paige). She was also survived by her father Gerald Thompson and brothers Guy (Elaine) and Gary (Karen) Thompson.

The viewing will be on June 6th from 6pm - 8pm at the Holladay 8th Ward house (5450 S. Holladay Blvd). Funeral services will be held on Wednesday June 7th at noon with a viewing from 10:30 ‚ 11:30 prior to the service. The services will be at the Holladay South Stake Center (4917 S. Viewmont Street). Dwan will be interred next to her mother, Patricia who passed away in 2014, at Larkin Sunset Lawn.
