Colleen Buttars Shepherd passed away peacefully on September 13, 2015 in Ogden, Utah. She was born January 13, 1927 to Ira and Gennie Buttars in Burley, Idaho. Colleen was a very lively child and loved her brothers and sisters dearly. She enjoyed helping her mother and father on the family farm. She attended Utah State University in the Nursing Program, gaining valuable knowledge and experience to help anyone in need. Colleen had a thirst for knowledge and understanding of the world. Having an adventurist attitude and independent spirit she traveled through most of the United States giving back to the communities and inspiring all.
Survived by her children, Steven (Debrah) Shepherd and Kent (Lauri) Shepherd; grandchildren, Ryan, Kristen, Ashley, Chloe.
Preceded in death by her parents, siblings and daughter, Barbara Black.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) Sandy, Utah. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the same location.
