Brent Milton Eyre

1949 ~ 2018

Brent Milton Eyre was born in Salt Lake City on November 18, 1949, to Jack and Iris Eyre. He passed away January 8, 2018, from complications of pneumonia.

He is survived by his wife, Colleen; sons Brandon and Martin (Mindy) Eyre; granddaughters Madison, Maya, Mailey and Megan; sister Terri Lyn (Lance) Hazley; and brother Kevin (Kathy).

He grew up in the Rose Park area and graduated from West High School in 1968.

He met the love of his life, Colleen, while dragging State Street in Salt Lake City. They were married on April 15, 1972 and just celebrated 45 years of marriage. The relationship they shared was an example to all, and they were truly best friends. A few years after they were married they moved to their home in Kearns, Utah where they lived for 26 years. While living in Kearns, many life-long friendships were formed. His personality drew a crowd, and their home quickly became the cool place to hang out, aka the ‘Kool-Aid' house.

There are many who think of him as a second father or grandfather, but the four girls who have the most claim to his role as grandpa had him wrapped around their fingers. There's not a thing he wouldn't do for those girls. They were the only ones who could get away with sitting is HIS chair. He was a man who loved his family above all else and covered the walls of his office with pictures of them. He loved and lived by this quote from Tony Gaskins, "A man's success is measured by what his wife and children say about him. Money and accomplishment's mean nothing if you let your home fail." He had a close relationship with his sons. He was proud of them and loved to tell others all about their accomplishments and adventures.

Brent was a humble and generous man, always putting the needs of others above his own. He was known for his witty sense of humor and was quick to smile with a contagious laugh. He was a good listener and when asked, always offered sound advice. He made others feel important and always took interest in the details of their lives. He was a loyal friend—when you became a friend of Brent's, you had a friend for life.

Brent was a hard worker and gave his all in whatever endeavor he was involved in, including his employment. Currently, he was employed at Primary Children's Hospital in the materials department. His smile and friendly disposition impacted the lives of many employees and visitors at the hospital. He never missed an opportunity to visit a child he knew.

His passion and love for hunting and fishing in the great outdoors led him to Rocky Mountain Rednecks. He bought the company in 2016 and has spent many hours improving and growing the company. Rockymountainrednecks.com

Past employment worthy of mentioning includes Robinson's Drilling Company with his father-in -law; Quality Paving, where he served as a managing partner; and the Salt Lake Liquor Store, where he worked for over 20 years.

To quote a great friend, "Guys like Brent don't go away; he's just hunting higher."
