Pamela was born April 1, 1954, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Delbert Boynton and Margaret Jensen. Pamela attended and graduated from South High School, where she was actively engaged in the Pep Club and served as the Yearbook Editor.

Pamela graduated from Utah State University as an Elementary Education Teacher and touched many lives during her 30+ years as a teacher in California and Virginia. Pamela also earned her required 5th Year in education at Brigham Young University and attended the University of Utah.
Pamela was known for her love of children. In fact, young children would often seek her out. One night at a drive-in movie, a young girl knocked on our car door and asked if Pamela could come out to play. Pamela loved music and particularly loved to go to musicals. She could often be heard singing popular Broadway musicals and children’s songs of her own creation around the home. She played the piano and guitar and shared her talents by teaching others how to play. Pamela was also known as a peacemaker and would work hard to help others come to agreements.

Pamela and Blake were married on November 22, 1974, in the Salt Lake City Temple and raised three wonderful children. They lived in Salt Lake City, Utah; Logan, Utah; Aloha, Oregon; San Jose, California; and South Riding, Virginia.

Pamela was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding various callings such as Primary Teacher, Stake Young Women’s President, Primary Chorister, and Relief Society President. Throughout her life she took time to emulate our Savior by loving individuals and making sure they knew they were loved and cared for. Pamela and Blake served a senior couple mission for the LDS Church in the Washington DC South Mission in 2019-2020 and worked with the young single adult congregations, where she continued to make a difference and touch hearts.

Pamela is survived by her husband (Blake Christie), children (Ryan Christie, Janalynne Wheeler, and Brett Christie); three wonderful in-laws (Jeff Wheeler, Jennifer Christie, and Jessica Christie); and 9 grandchildren (Krislynne Scholl, Madeline Christie, James Wheeler, Amelia Christie, Kate Wheeler, Zach Christie, Emmaline Wheeler, Lyla Christie, and Tyler Christie).

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM EST on August 16, 2021 in Virginia at the Tall Cedars LDS chapel (42530 Tall Cedars Pkwy, Chantilly, VA 20152) and she will be laid to rest in Lake Hills Memorial Park in Sandy, Utah (10055 S. State St.) on August 20, 2021 at 10:30 AM MDT.
Due to the Pandemic, the funeral service will require all attendees to wear masks and follow an every-other bench protocol.

We loved seeing Pamela’s beautiful picture and reading about her stellar life. What an amazing person she is! We love her and will miss her so much! We are sad that we will be out of town helping to send off a family missionary on the day of her funeral! We would love to be in attendance, but our hearts, our love and our prayers will be with all of you that day as you celebrate a life so fully lived and mourn her passing. We are so saddened to hear of Pamela's passing. Some of our most cherished memories from living in Virginia are centered on Pamela. Pamela and Blake were always so welcoming and gracious in opening their home and hearts to the "orphans" without family in the area. She was the ideal Primary chorister, spending time not only with kids in Sharing Time, but ensuring the nursery kids were learning songs so they were prepared to join Primary as active participants. Her love for people was always evident, especially children. She is a kind, gentle soul with a heart of gold.

To The Christie Family: My condolences on the loss of your wife, mother and friend. Pam was one of the most well liked people in High School, and we would always sit and talk for a while at the School Reunions. She will be greatly missed next year at our 50th Reunion. and by me personally. I pray the Lord comfort and strengthen you in the coming days and know that the spirits of many of our friends / classmates will be there to meet her.
