Tisa (Higgins) Mojzisik

1956 ~ 2021

Tisa (Higgins) Mojzisik was born September 17, 1956 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Larry and Helen Higgins. She joined her two older brothers, Mark and Barry, who she looked up to and admired so much, and her sister Katie joined the family a few years later.

Tisa was preceded in death by her parents, and by the love of her life, Greg Mojzisik, who she married in December, 1985. They relished their life in Palm Springs, but ultimately returned to SLC to make their home. They welcomed their first daughter, Analee Alta in 1987 and Aimee Cassity in 1994. Tisa’s daughters were the lights of her life and brought her much pride, love and happiness as they grew in their family home and became successful in their own right.

Tisa’s early life included swimming on the Willow Creek swim team and her high school days were punctuated by her years as an accomplished gymnast, as well as head cheerleader at East High School. She attended the University of Utah and Westminster College. She enjoyed skiing and hiking at Snowbird and was still upset with her parents for not allowing her to follow her brothers into ski racing. She loved her work as an EKG Technician at the Intermountain Clinic, where she had a strong, hard-work ethic and retired after 32 years, just last January. She loved chasing the sun while traveling with friends; among her favorites were The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Disney World in Orlando, beaches in Southern California, Catalina Island, Cabo San Lucas, Playa Mujeres, various islands in the Caribbean, and St. George. She enjoyed traveling with Analee and Aimee for gymnastics and cheerleading competitions during their school days.

Tisa is survived by her daughters, Analee (Cougar) Elfervig and Aimee (Brad) Mojzisik, brothers Mark (Linda), Barry (Carolyn), sister Katie, and many nieces and nephews, who remember her as such a fun aunt, and her friends. Her dogs, Peanut and Patches, will miss her terribly, but will remember the many years of sincere love Tisa gave to them, as she did to all her dogs.

The family would like to thank the many caregivers, nurses and doctors at St Mark’s Hospital and Intermountain Medical Center, for their exceptional care to Tisa and her family. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance or to the philanthropy of your choice in Tisa’s name. A celebration of Tisa’s life will be held on Thursday, June 24 at 6:30PM. For details on this celebration, please contact her sister, Katie at kehiggins44@gmail.com

You were way to young to leave. Will miss your smile and energy. Sorry you didn’t get to enjoy more of your retirement. Was looking forward to seeing you in July. Sending all my love to you & both of your lovely daughters. Good bye for now. Greg will be happy to see you.

I haven't seen Tisa since high school. I think I spotted her at our 40th reunion but didn't get close enough to catch up. Even as a teenager when most of us are angry and self involved, she was incredibly kind. She cared about others and never spoke ill of anyone. I am so sad she has left this earth. She was already heaven on earth now she is an angel in heaven. With deepest sympathy. Anne Freed
