Paul Douglas Pappas was born on May 1, 1960 to Paul and Juna Pappas. Paul passed away on February 10, at home with complications from COVID.

After graduating from high school, Paul attended the University of Nevada for two years. He then moved to Prescott, Arizona and attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He went on to start his career as a pilot, starting with Wings West, which then became American Eagle. He was hired by Delta Air Lines in August of 1990. He ultimately became a Captain on the MD-88 and then the Airbus 319/20. Paul had over 30 years of flying experience. Everyone enjoyed flying with Paul and he was a friend to everyone at Delta.

Paul was passionate about his family, motocross, skiing and golfing. He was a beautiful skier and a great golfer. He loved to ride his dirt bike and attended almost every Supercross race he could. He became excellent friends with everyone in the industry.

Paul and Jen welcomed Zoë Kristene in 2006. The day Zoë came home from the hospital, Paul watched a motocross race while she slept in his arms. Then came Gabrielle Rae in 2008. Paul nicknamed her “Gaby-Goo” or “G-love.” Paul loved his girls more than life. He was beyond proud of them.

Paul has many friends from his past to the present and touched the lives of everyone he became friends with. We will miss him more than words can describe.

Paul is survived by his beautiful daughters, Zoë, 15 and Gabrielle, 13; their mother Jennifer; his sisters, Elaine (Gary) Sargent, Janean (Richard) Priest; nephews Patrick Sargent and Morgan Priest; nieces, Juna and Madison Priest.

We will be having a Celebration of Life on June 16, 2021 at Larkin Sunset Gardens – Le Jardin, 1910 E. Dimple Dell Rd (10600 So.), Sandy, Utah 84092. An open house and time to enjoy one another’s company will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, followed by a memorial program beginning at 1:00 pm. Please stop by to pay your respects to Paul and his family.
