In Loving Memory
1962•2026
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for the life she lived, we announce the passing of Paula Cushing Green, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
Paula was born on January 30, 1962, to James Warren Cushing and Ila Wright. She passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was 64 years old.
Paula grew up in Kearns, UT, and later moved to Riverton, UT. She graduated from Bingham High School in 1980. While living in Riverton, she met the love of her life, Dave Green. They first met as neighbors. Dave finally asked her out, and for their first date he went to watch her play in a basketball game, where she showed off her skills on the court. After a year and a half of dating, she married Dave for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple in August of 1980 – a union that became a cornerstone of her life and the lives of their children, Joe and Jenna.
Paula dedicated more than 20 years of her life serving in the community as a rural letter carrier with the Riverton Post Office. However, it was her life outside of work that truly defined her. As an avid lover of basketball and softball, she found joy in sports - as a player, referee, and spectator. Camping trips and family gatherings filled with games were among her most cherished memories. She had a keen sense of humor and an uncanny ability to remember even the smallest details. She shared warmth and laughter with everyone she met and was known for always having the best jokes and even causing a little mischief. Paula was a very thoughtful person and often checked in with family and friends near and far just to see how they and their families were doing. She remembered birthdays and anniversaries, making people feel special and loved.
Amidst other health issues she endured during her lifetime, Paula courageously fought and overcame stage 4 breast cancer in 2023. She did it with grace and a good attitude, which helped her get through such a difficult time.
As we remember Paula, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys. Her legacy. lives on in the laughter of her grandchildren, the stories shared by her family, and the countless lives she touched with her warmth and humor. May Paula’s memory be a blessing to all who knew her and may her spirit continue to inspire us to live with love and laughter.
While we mourn her departure, we are comforted knowing she is reunited with her loved ones who went before her. Paula was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ila; brothers, Warren and Kevin; stepsister, Marne; brother-in-law, Neil; sister-in-law, Becky; brother-in-law, Jeff; and father-in-law, Clifton.
Paula is survived by her devoted husband, Dave; their children, Joe (Kristen) and Jenna (Chris); and their four grandchildren; Brandon, Evan, Wyatt, and Adalee, who brought her immense joy and pride. Additionally, she leaves behind her three loving sisters; Cheryl (Shay), Mary (Rod), and Karen; and her stepbrother, Kevin (Jill), as well as her mother-in-law, Joyce; sister-in-law, Annette; and brother-in-law, Mike (Shauna), who will forever hold her in their hearts.
A viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m., on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Larkin Mortuary Riverton at 3688 West 12600 South, Riverton, UT 84065, with a memorial service to honor Paula’s life immediately following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the Riverton City Cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate gifts of donations be made to
Dave Green’s Venmo account @David-Green-2362. Thank you!

My thoughts and prayers are with Paula’s family. I remember her so well from our childhood growing up in the 19th ward and going to school together. It is sad to hear.
I am so sorry to hear about Paula. She worked for me at the Riverton PO. She was a great employee and loved her family so much.
I enjoyed working with Paula for several years at the Riverton post office. She was always kind and a helpful mentor to me. Her ability to make me laugh and also answer my questions from her wealth of knowledge about the post office is something I have always cherished. My thoughts and prayers go to her and her loved ones.
One of my favorite childhood memories with Paula was catching grasshoppers together (before my fear kicked in haha!) She has always been so loving and supportive, and I'm truly going to miss her! I'm so sad we won't be able to come to the memorial service! (We are out of the country for another week so we won't be able to attend!) Sending lots of love and prayers to her sweet family!
So sorry for your loss David my love and prayers are with you and your family
My heart is so heavy to hear about Paula. She worked with my mom at the post office for many years. She continued to touch base with my sister and me over the years. She was a warm and loving person who remembered so many things. She always made us feel extra special even when she was struggling. My sincere condolences to the entire family and her friends.
I enjoyed working with Paula at the post office. We shared a lot of good times and a lot of laughter. And we had a lot of great times playing Bunco with our co workers. I will miss our long talks and her good advice. She loved and was so proud of her family. I am so grateful for our friendship and all the great memories ❤️
So sorry for the loss of Paula. I took piano lessons from her mother in Kearns. May the Lord comfort your family at this time of mourning.

Paula grew up two doors down from us in Kearns and she was so sweet and just adorable. Her sister was my age and I spent many happy times in the Cushing home. Paula's parents were such a great example of hard work and dedication to family. Sending prayers of hope and love to her family.
Paula has been a lifelong friend since we met when she moved just one house over from me. We hit it off right away and she has been my friend ever since. I will miss her phone calls.
She was a true friend.
