Paula Lorayne Anderson Peacock, 68, died at home in South Jordan on Sunday, February 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 16, 1955, in Salt Lake City to Darlene Ruth Winn Anderson and W. Paul Anderson. Paula will be remembered as a loving mother to her three children Jacob (Christina) Peacock, Michael Peacock, and Katherine Peacock.

Paula grew up in Sandy, Utah, and graduated from Jordan High School in 1974. During her high school years, she was a member of the Jordan Charlonian Drill Team, following in her mother’s footsteps.

She attended the University of Utah and graduated from Park University in Parkville, Missouri.

As an army wife, she traveled to many places and lived in Kansas, Hawaii, Florida, Germany, and Saudi Arabia. All three of her children were born in different countries. Upon returning to live in Sandy, she began working at Fidelity Investments from 1993 to 2003. In 2003, she began a career at the University of Utah School of Medicine with the Department of Surgery. She was the Director of Faculty and Administration until her diagnosis of Glioblastoma in September 2022. She loved her job and coworkers at the University and was passionate about her work.

Paula had a love of animals, always adopting the most unadoptable cats and dogs from the Humane Society or Best Friends of Utah. Her cat, Mr. Woods, will miss her. Her granddogs loved to visit her because she spoiled them with all the treats.

She loved being outside “puttering” around her garden. She spent many hours in the spring and summer months in her yard, making sure everything looked just right. Her home was always filled with love and kindness. She was an enthusiastic baker and loved having people over to entertain. She loved Sunday dinners with her family. She loved disco music and could be found dancing around the room whenever her favorite tunes came on. She loved shopping with “her girls”.

Paula loved spending time with her family, friends, and cousins. Their support of her in the last 17 months showed their love for her, and her memory will live on in their hearts.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Jeffrey (Jenn) Anderson. She was survived by her children and sister, Jeanine (Peter) Hanson, her aunt Brenda Anderson, many nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Matt Peacock, and many cousins.

Services will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 11 am at Larkin Sunset Gardens in Sandy. A viewing will be held from 5-7 pm on Sunday, February 25, 2024, and from 10-11 am on Monday, February 26, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Glioblastoma Foundation.
