Pauline Dearing Sturdy, 73, passed away February 2, 2024, unexpectedly. She was born to Eda Marie and Wayne Dearing, June 27, 1950, in Logan Utah, nine minutes before her twin sister Joelene Charlton. She is the 2 nd oldest of 5 siblings. Pauline graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1968 and received her RN (registered nurse) degree at Weber State University.

She married Joseph Sturdy III in 1971 and they lived together in the Salt Lake Valley UT and traveled to Kendrick ID, where they build their dream home, until she passed away. Pauline is survived by her husband, 5 children (Jody and Ryan O’Connor, Michelle Sturdy and Jason
Hooper, Joseph Sturdy IV, Megan Sturdy and Jeremy Sturdy) 5 grandchildren (Poppy Hooper, Eda O’Connor, Kathryn O’Connor, Sophie Hooper and Althea Sturdy) and 3 siblings (Joelene and Randy Charlton, Jerry and Karen Dearing and Tim Dearing). Pauline was predeceased by her
brother Jeffery Dearing and parents Wayne and Eda Dearing.

She had many hobbies such as quilting, golfing, reading, skiing to name a few. Pauline deeply loved and adored her grandchildren. Her heart however had the generosity, energy and love to welcome and care for all who knew her. She was often described as “their rock” for many going
through hard times. She loved service and filled many church callings and was a Temple worker for 17 years at the Jordan River and Draper Temples. If you were sick she would call, bring you food or take you to lunch. She loved taking care of everyone she knew. When you were her friend you were family. She is greatly missed.

The Viewing ceremony will be held on Feb. 8 from 6 to 8 pm at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. 10600 S. (Dimple Dell Rd.). On Friday Feb 9 the viewing will be from 10 to 11 am and funeral from 11 am to 12 pm will be held at an LDS church on 11755 S. 2000 E. (Highland Drive). Please

OH, gosh! We were so sorry to hear the news of Pauline's untimely passing! She was a wonderful neighbor and friend. we have had many great conversations over the past 20 years and she was just the best person in the world! We are serving a senior mission in Brazil and are not able to be there for the funeral services. But know that we are there in heart.
The neighborhood will never be the same without our dear friend and neighbor Pauline. She was truly a wonderful person in every respect! So sorry we will not see her for a few years until the rest of us have passed on as well. And then we will see her shining face ad welcoming smile once more! rest in peace dear Pauline! I used to refer to Pauline as "St. Pauline". Pauline was a ROCK to her family and her Ward community, one who lived the gospel and was an inspiration to me and many others. We have lost another good soul here in the neighborhood. My thoughts and prayers are with the Sturdy family at this sad time.

Over thirty years ago my daughter was in a bad accident. I couldn’t deal with all the surgical dressings Pauline came to my home for weeks to take care of wound. She was so kind and I will never forget that great service. May the Lord give your family strength at this time!
