Pauline Mertlich Mumford

1943 ~ 2023

Ivins – Pauline Mertlich Mumford, 80, passed away June 9, 2023 at her home in Ivins, Utah
with her family. She was born January 15, 1943 to Paul and Ruth Mertlich in Murray, Utah.
She was married for 56 years to the love of her life Bryan Max Mumford who preceded her in
death.

Pauline is survived by her daughter Lori Good, her husband Bret and their daughter
Amelia, Pauline’s son Erik Mumford, his wife Barbara and their children Kayla and Alek.
Pauline grew up in Holiday, Utah. She went to Jordan High School in Sandy Utah. She
met her husband in 1961 and they were married in 1963. Pauline worked with her husband at
M&M Meat Company in Sandy, Utah for over 40 years. She also was an amazing artist that
wrote over 30 books on how to toll paint. She taught classes for many years on toll painting at
Provo Craft and painted up until the last year of her life. She was an avid gardener and prided
herself on having a beautiful yard. Pauline lived in Cottonwood Heights, Utah for 52 years
where she raised her family and lived on Creek Way next to neighbors of which many are still in
the neighborhood. Her garden was a show place with a pond that held her prized koi fish. She
lived up the street by her son, Erik and his wife Barbara and spent many summers with their
children Kayla and Alek which were some of the best years of her life. Upon retirement Pauline
and Bryan traveled mostly to visit their daughter Lori and family in Mission Viejo, California
which she considered her second winter home. Her grandkids, Kayla, Alek and Amelia were her
pride and joy and she loved being a Nana. When her husband, Bryan, passed away in January of
2020, Pauline joined her daughter Lori and family in Ivins, Utah where she lived in Padre Lakes
by a pond that she enjoyed watching the fish, turtles and ducks but mostly sitting in the warm
sun and not having to deal with snow.

Pauline will be interred at the Sunset Larkin Mortuary in Sandy, Utah next to her husband
Bryan. She asked that there not be any funeral services but that there be a celebration of her life
in a private dinner with her children.
