Pete Lamoni, Jr

1927 ~ 2021

Pete Lamoni, Jr., a generous and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all, peacefully passed away on October 6, 2021 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was 94 years old. Pete was born to Pia and Pete Lamoni in Cottonwood, Oklahoma on February 7, 1927. Pete married June Lamoni in 1948. Pete and June were married for 66 years until June’s passing in 2014. Pete worked in agriculture most of his life, living in Santa Paula, California with June while raising their two children. In 2013, Pete and June moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho to be near their daughter and granddaughter. Following June’s death, Pete moved to Salt Lake City in 2016 to live with his son Roger.

Surviving family include daughter Linda Criswell, son Roger Lamoni, granddaughters Carla (Kameron) Were and Beth Jaggar, great-grandchildren Mikhail Were and Trenton Jaggar and numerous nieces and nephews in California and Oklahoma.

“Grandpa Pete” loved his family unconditionally. He always wore a smile and made many friends over the years. He loved Mexican food, was a lifelong auto racing fan and was always up for a game of dominos or poker (which he usually won). Pete enjoyed fishing at the pier in Ventura, California, sightseeing on road trips and visiting Las Vegas and Reno, NV to play the slots. He was a kind, loving and gentle man who will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Guestbook/Condolences

Roger - no matter how old a loved one is, it never seems time for them to leave you. Pete was lucky to have you be his caretaker for the last few years of his life. You obviously loved him in large amounts!

My heart goes out to you during this hard time. Losing a loved one is extremely hard I know. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and will be missed by many. I wish the family comfort during this hard time and hope you are able to think of him with a smile and love in your heart.

Roger, I was sadden to hear of Pete's passings. You were a good son taking care of him and I did enjoy brief chats with Pete during Bistro at HUCC, and
Wednesday Night Community Suppers. God Bless you Roger
Godspeed Pete.
Peace,
