Shannon's first love was her boys. To them she was an amazing mother and friend. She would sacrifice everything to make sure they were taken care of and happy. Shannon loved taking them places and enjoyed showing them the wonders of the world. She spent countless nights in the hospital with Christopher and went to every wrestling match for her son Mike.
Shannon had a soft heart for any animal or person in need. If it were up to her she would have taken them all home to care for. She just couldn't see anyone going without if she had the means to fix it.
She was the best friend a person could ever want, a great listener, and wonderful accomplice to mischief and fun. She loved to laugh and was a great person to tease with.
Shannon was taken from us all too soon. We will truly miss her beautiful spirit.
Shannon is survived by her husband Komasquin Lopez, her children Michael Nance and Christopher Nance, her older brother and his wife Shon and Ilene Nelson, her younger brother Kamron Nelson, and her father Steven Nelson.
She is preceded in death by her mother Susan Nelson, her sister Dion Nelson, her brother Brannon Nelson, and her son Justin Nance.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held from 12:00 ‚ 1:45 PM prior to the services at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, located at the same address as the cemetery.
There will be a memory box at the viewing for those who would like to write down and share a memory with her family. If you are unable to attend and would love to share a memory with her family please email it to Shannon@thenelsons.ws for us to print and place in the box for you.
We have set aside a fund to cover her funeral expenses and headstone any extra will be placed in a trust for her boys. If you would like to donate please go to the link below.
