Dolores Reeve Murdoch

1924 ~ 2015

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Vera Dolores Reeve Murdoch, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2015 after a long illness. She was surrounded by loving family and friends all day.

Dolores was born on April 25, 1924 to Vera Cheshire Reeve and John (Jack) Hyrum Reeve. She was married to Grant Robert (Bob) Murdoch on May 12, 1945 on Treasure Island, near San Francisco while Bob was in the Navy. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on May 12, 1952, their 7th Anniversary.

She was a life-long member of the LDS Church and played the piano for the Primary, Sunday School, Relief Society and Ward choir.

She was a very talented person. Her many beautiful paintings were displayed throughout our house. She made over 100 Christmas wreaths for family and friends. The wreaths were various combinations of pine cones, acorns, sycamore balls, horse chestnuts and sunflowers. She made dresses and other clothes for her girls and vest and bowties for her husband and sons.

She loved animals of all types and could see the beauty of nature in everything around her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Bob, her children: Steven (Wendell) of Reno, Nevada; Kathleen (Terry) of Sandy, Utah; Linda of Kamas, Utah; Gary (Cindy) of Hoquiam, Washington; and Charlene (Ron) of St. George, Utah. She had 7 grandchildren: Ben, Josh, Ashley, Heather, Marlo, Whitney and Dustin. She had 18 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her loving dog Charlie.

The family would like to thank Inspiration Hospice for their many hours of loving help. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in the name of Dolores Murdoch to Best Friends Animal Society or Inspiration Hospice.
