Duane Dexter Rose

1938 ~ 2015

Duane Dexter Rose passed from this life on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2015. Duane was born to James and Inga Rose on March 13th, 1938 in Salt Lake City Utah and he "came out laughing". He married Patricia Ann Jones on July 4th, 1964 and lived in Holladay Utah. He will be deeply missed by his three children Denise (Kyle), Vincent (Lucy), Susan (Douglas), six grandchildren [Lance (Sara), Jessica, Connor, Darby, Lillian, Dexter] and his two great grandchildren (Caden, Harrison). He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother Jimmy.

Duane graduated from Granite High school and later obtained his bachelor degree in material science from the University of Utah. He worked a variety of jobs in construction and for Western Airlines. He then started a career in the Utah stock market with Mountain States Securities after which he helped found Cannon Securities.

Duane loved spending time with his family and friends at the cabin he built. He would always refer to himself as "just an ordinary guy", but, to family, friends, and anyone who met him, he was an extraordinary guy. He was the comedian and scholar at every gathering, a golfer, hiker, sailor, pilot, rock hound, forester of the year, "outstanding mathematician" and so much more.

Services will be held in the Larkin Mortuary Chapel, located at 260 East and South Temple in Salt Lake City on Saturday, November 7th, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Friends and family may visit at the Mortuary Friday, November 6th, 2015 from 6:00 PM ‚ 8:00 PM
