Shanna Bingham Jensen

1964 ~ 2018

Our amazing, beautiful sweet wife and mother, Shanna Weston Bingham Jensen passed away on Monday, July 2nd. She was born on March 31st, 1964 in Seattle, WA and was the eldest of 9 siblings. She grew up in the suburbs of Salt Lake City, UT and graduated from Brighton High School in 1982. In 1983, she met the man of her dreams and married Russ Jensen. For almost 35 years, Russ adored Shanna and knew he had hit the jackpot. Shanna was one of the sweetest, most selfless people who had ever walked this earth.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and raised 4 amazing children with a solid background of our shared religious beliefs. Shanna adored her children: Michael (Erica), Corbin (Emily), Whitney (Gui) and Stori (Sam) and was enormously proud of them and her 4 beautiful grandchildren.

She suffered from the effects of MS for almost 30 years, but she never let MS conquer her. She was the boss, stubborn and determined to win. She never complained and always appreciated the kindness offered to her by her many friends (especially her lunch buddies), doctors and nurses. Her positive attitude, her optimism and her faith never wavered. Her love for her family never faded. She was, and still is, the center of our universe and she is currently paving our path and opening doors so that we can all be joined as a family for the rest of eternity.

From Corbin: We love her because without her being here the planets would forget to rotate, the sun would turn to ice and the earth\s radioactive core would turn to lead thus causing the convection currents within the mantle to cease convecting and leading the continents to sink into the stratosphere and kill all life on earth as we know it.

From CJ, Russ\ brother: There is always a tendency to deify those we lose. We consciously choose to forget faults and shortcomings and hold on to those dear and cherished memories of the virtues of our lost ones. But, that is not the case here. Shanna truly was the closest thing to a saint that I know. Her heart was free of malice. She was encouraging of all, optimistic and her faith never wavered. She truly was unburdened by having to make choices about when to do the right thing. That was just simply her nature, she was the definition of pure and kind and innocence and love.

She is preceded in death by her father Merlyn Bingham. Survived by her heartbroken husband Russ, 4 children, 4 grandchildren, mother Marie Bingham and all 8 siblings.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 9th at 11:00 AM at the Forest Bend LDS Chapel, 7784 Highland Drive, Cottonwood Heights, UT. Interment to follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy, UT. Online condolences may be offered at www.larkincares.com

The picture you see of our beautiful wife and mother was recently taken after she had climbed 177 steps to the top of a lighthouse in Pensacola, FL. She was so happy that she had reached the top and was able to tell MS to piss off! Our sweetheart was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all!
