Shelly Marie Savage

1956 ~ 2018

A lovely lilac tree grew in the yard of our family home. Though graceful and delicate in appearance, year after year it withstood the harshest of seasons. When we remember Shelly, we are reminded of that splendid tree. Its softly hued flowers were sweet and fine, but also complex in composition and fragrance. Like that tree of our childhood, Shelly graced all who came into her orbit with her gentle, loving ways. Though many were initially drawn by her beauty and wit, it was Shelly's goodness and quiet strength that warmed and sheltered us throughout the years. Her boundless kindness and generosity were lavished upon all of those who knew her. This world has lost a truly extraordinary spirit.

Shelly earned her Bachelors and her Masters degrees from the University of Utah. She spent the majority of her adult life in service to others as a speech therapist in the Jordan School District and a member of the Traumatic Brain Injury Team. Shelly is survived by her husband, Mark Ingersoll, her children, Sara Savage, Casey Pedrone (Jim), and Austin Ingersoll; her grandchildren, Braeden Neslen, Emily Pedrone, and Connor Savage; her siblings Ben Savage (Liz) and Vicky Savage (Michael Lena); and her adoring dog Kenny. The family wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to hospice nurse, Susan Lowe, an angel in our eyes.

Services will be held Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 Dimple Dell Road in Sandy, Utah. A Celebration of Life will follow from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Chateau, located next to the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Huntsman Cancer Center at the University of Utah, extra hugs for your loved ones, or a special treat for your dog.
