Celia Hector Gines

1941 ~ 2018

Our Beautiful, Amazing, Loving, Kind, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, sister and friend, passed away August 5, 2018, surrounded by her family who loved her and will miss her. We know that she is now free of pain and is having a joyous reunion with her family in Heaven.

Celia was born in Tooele, UT on January 6, 1941 to Dean and Elna Hector. She was at the time, the New Year's Baby for Tooele. The family moved to Daniels, UT, where she grew up and was quite the tomboy! She met Clark Leo Gines when they were young and it was quite a courtship. As dad tells it, she still stuck around even after he threw her in the ditch. Their first date was a Scout dance when they were 12. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple, September 3rd, 1959. Celia loved the Lord and her membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held many callings such as Relief Society, Young Women\s, and Primary President and so much more. When we were young, she would line us kids up in the pew and all it took was the Dean Hector look to make us behave.

Celia had a love of baseball, knitting and painting. If she was sitting down, she was knitting. She made some amazing things that we will treasure. She was always supportive of Clark and his horses and most of our vacations were at horse shows. We loved it! She always made it fun. She was a QVC shopper and when the UPS truck would drive by the house without stopping, Clark would wonder if there was something wrong. She always dressed beautifully and elegantly, but she did love her jeans.

Mom was always there with a listening ear, advice when it was needed, and a laugh when it was needed more.

Celia is survived by her husband and best friend Clark, children, Brett (Robyn), Brenda (Steve), Doug (Laurie), Valerie (Sean), Craig (Lynn), Lee (Tammy), 22 Grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, Sisters Deanna Cummings, Leslie Lefler. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clark\s parents, Eva and Ellsworth Gines whom she loved like her own, 2 grandchildren, Aubrey Noel, Wacey Lee, brothers-in-law, Kayle Cummings, Mick Lefler.
