Dee W. Johnstun passed away on May 15, 2018 in Riverton, Utah. Dee was born on April 12, 1953 in SLC, UT to Loren Ralph and Margaret Kazia (Shelton) Johnstun. Dee graduated from West High School in 1971. He was married to the love of his life Leanna Edwards for 40 years. Together they had 5 children.
Dee was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His greatest desire and priority in life was his family. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Dee was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish and ride his beloved horse Denver. Beginning at a young age Dee grew to love the game of baseball. He played baseball throughout his childhood, coached his sons and nephews and attended many of his grandchildren's baseball games. He was a passionate New York Yankees fan and attended as many games as he could.
Dee and Leanna would like to thank the medical team that cared for him during the past several years. Dee had great admiration for Dr. Cox, Dr. Day, Dr. Judd and the entire Cardiologist team at the University of Utah. He was also very grateful for the care and compassion that Dr. Litton and his staff provided him during the last two years of his life.
Dee is survived by his wife Leanna, his children Danielle (Aaron) Lewis, Kody, David, Jessica (Travis) Jones, Brad (Natasha), 13 grandchildren, his sister Peggy (Roger) Thorstrom, sister Deon (Byron) Spilker and brother Scott (Lori) Johnstun.
Dee is preceded in death by his father and mother Loren and Margaret Johnstun, his sister Carol Kaye Johnstun, his brothers Kent and Glenn Johnstun, his sister-in-law Sharon Johnstun and his nephews John and Todd Johnstun.
Services will be held on Monday May 21st at 11:00am at the Copperview 8th Ward chapel located at 12154 South 3600 West, Riverton. A viewing will be held on Sunday May 20 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Larkin Mortuary ‚ Riverton, 3688 W. 12600 S. and prior to funeral services beginning at 10am.
