Kent L. Walton

1931 ~ 2017

Kent L. Walton, of Salt Lake City passed away peacefully at his home on July 27, 2017. Kent was born in Salt Lake City on October 5, 1931 to Ivan R. and Jean Walton. He graduated from South High in 1948. He also graduated from the University of Utah and was a member of the Delta Phi Kappa fraternity. He was drafted into the US Army during the Korean War. He also served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Spanish speaking West Texas mission.

He married Karyl J. Lamont on April 17, 1958 in the Salt Lake Temple.

He was employed after graduation from the \"U\" by Hinckley Dodge in Salt Lake City and then by the Bureau of Reclamation for the remainder of his career as a budget analyst. After retirement, he still continued to work at various hotel reservation chains.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, he was a clerk/auditor for almost 50 years. But would also volunteered when asked for various positions as well.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, brother Nyle, granddaughter Sidra Jane Riehle. He is survived by his wife, Karyl. Sister, Janet Nord, brother Ivan Daniel Walton. His children, Kirk L. Walton, Kristopher L. Walton (Sarasue), Katie Riehle (Robertson). Grandchildren, Alexander J. Walton, Austin M. Walton, Benjamin L. Walton, Lauren Jensen, Jacob D. Jensen, Emma R. Jensen, Theron Riehle, Zeniff Riehle, Nixon Riehle, Raleigh Riehle, Bryn Riehle, Kallista Riehle, Erika Riehle, Simon Riehle.
