Russell Cecil Kearl

1955 ~ 2014

We regret to announce the recent passing of Russell Cecil Kearl. Russell was known for being a generous, kind hearted man, with countless interests that granted opportunity to feed curiosity for himself, and with everyone he encountered, be it family, friends, colleagues, or students. Russell, age 59, was born on April 6, 1955, and peacefully passed on May 29, 2014.

Russell's great appreciation of the arts, sciences and worldly philosophies, combined with his unique personality and quirky sense of humor, made him an incredibly loving person. All who knew him could witness the little things that were a result of his accumulated adventures. Spoken phrases, often times, were references he'd make of some recent or applicable encounter he'd experienced or observed. He could bring humor to any circumstance which the celebration that was him. Many times one could witness the distinctive look only he had with faces he'd make that would always result in smiles and/or laughter. He always had time for those that were inquisitive and curious, he was always there for loved ones that needed his strength and wisdom. Somehow he still had time to be an ambitious workaholic, and an outstanding family man. Married to the same loving wife, Louise, for 32 years, his co-pilot, together, through all their adventures. Russell served 24 years as a Career Law Clerk, under Judge Bruce Jenkins Chambers for the U.S. District Court. For all of us that knew Russell, we share a great loss in a beautiful human being.

Russell is survived by his Wife: Louise H. Kearl, Sons: Michael L. Bilagody, Marquis J. Bilagody (Amber), Grandchildren: Mckayla L. Bilagody (Stephen), Leif M. Andrus, Great Grandchild: Ryan Russell Bilagody-Lawyer, Parents: E. Keith and Shanna Lea Sanford, James R. and Barbara Kearl, Siblings: David L. Sanford (Christine), Lee Ann Sanford (Stephanie), Kurtis James Kearl (Melissa), Evaly Ann Poole (Mitchell), Jan Lynn Welsh (Nicholas), Jonathan Rinehart Kearl (Jane), Jason Paul Kearl (Tammy).

Services will be held Monday, June 2, at 10:00 am at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E South Temple. A visitation will be held on Sunday June 1, from 6:00-8:00pm at Larkin Mortuary.
