Jack Hamilton Barratt passed away on December 14, 2013 in Salt Lake City at the age of 92. He was born on November 29, 1921 in Millcreek, UT to Ethel Hamilton and John Gilbert Barratt. Jack married Janet Peterson on June 22, 1946 in Lima, MT.
Jack loved the outdoors, loved skiing, fishing, boating and swimming. He was patient and willing to teach anyone who wanted to join him. He was an avid car enthusiast. He enjoyed working on cars and watching car races. Jack served as a Marine in WWII on the Marshall Islands, Saipan and Iwo Jima. He was honorably discharged in November of 1945 and again as a reservist in1952.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Janet Peterson Barratt and his daughter Susan Barratt. He was deeply loved. He was preceded in death by his brother Dale and his two sisters Vera and La Ree.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South. Online condolences at larkinmortuary.com. The family would like to give a special thanks to caring staff at St. Joseph Villa in Salt Lake City.
