Lucile Sudbury Callihan

1924 ~ 2017

Lucile Sudbury Callihan 04/15/1924 ~ 04/07/2017 Lucile was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was a Devoted Military wife and mother. She set up the family home 18 different times all over the world filling it with much Happiness and Love. She had a 68 year Love affair with her husband Stuart who greeted her on the other side with open arms. She met Stuart when he was stationed in Salt Lake during the 2ndWorld War and they were married on Dec. 1st1943. Lucile was an incredible woman who served her family with everything she had to give. She was a professional milliner by trade and took great pride in her designs. She also taught future milliners at the University of New Mexico. Lucile was very artistic, she loved to paint crafts, make jewelry and was also a seamstress for the whole family. She was an excellent cook and many times made a dish that was so good but not replicable. She would say "Here is your meal, but you'll never have it again" because of her talent of just putting things together however she felt, she never used a real recipe. Lucile was always happy and simply adored her husband and he adored her right back. Her wisdom was beyond her years. You'll never meet a better woman then Lucile. She was also a wonderful mother in law. She was truly loved by all who knew her, people would flock to her. Lucile had incredible strength. She handled life with extreme grace in all circumstances. Lucile is survived by herfour children, Linda (William) Buvinger, Phyllis (Bob) Cochran, Stuart S. Callihan and William (Karen) Callihan. Also by two grandchildren, Sam (Sandy) Cochran and James (Krystal) Cochran and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Molly Cochran. She is survived by her sister Phyllis (Don) Balfour. Per Lucile's request there will be no funeral services. Interment willbe at Camp Williams on April 12th at 3:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of her Life at Cottonwood Coves, 300 E.
