Vicki Anne Micklos Godwin

1964 ~ 2015

Vicki Anne Micklos Godwin, passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of November 29, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Vicki was born on August 13, 1964 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Olivia Smith and D. Vaughn Micklos. She graduated from Alta High School in Sandy, Utah in 1982 and earned Bachelor's degrees in both Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics, Cum Laude, from the University of Utah. Vicki spent most her career in the Medical Device field. She was an accomplished engineering and regulatory professional for 25 years in the Medical Products Industry, including 20years at Merit Medical.

Vicki married John C. Godwin on August 22, 1985. They are the parents of three children: Jennifer (Scott), Tara, and Cassandra and three grandchildren. Vicki became a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2007. Vicki and John were later sealed together in the Jordan River Temple in 2010 on their 25th wedding anniversary. Vicki served faithfully in many church callings over the years.

Vicki is preceded in death by her mother, Olivia Smith, and father, D. Vaughn (Becky) Micklos. She is survived by her stepfather McDonald (Sandra) Smith, four siblings: Lisa (Al) Pellicano, Joe (Angela) Micklos, Stephan Micklos, and Rachelle (Blake) Trial, as well as 2 step brothers, Chad (Marcia) Smith and Brandt (Shawna) Smith, John's parents, Ronald and Myrna Godwin and siblings: Ronald Jr, Debbi (Craig), Tami (Gary), Laura, and Kristina (Steve). Special appreciation goes out to the amazing medical teams that helped treat her during her fight with cancer, Dr. LeGrand Belnap, Dr. Richard Frame and the entire staff at Utah Cancer Specialists, along with countless others as well as to the wonderfully supportive management team and employees of Merit Medical.

A visitation will be held Thursday, December 3rd at Larkin Mortuary, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 S.) from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Friends and family are also invited to attend a visitation Friday, December 4th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the LDS Chapel 8950 South 13th West. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
